The college has approximately 130 tenure-track and professional-track faculty, 90 support and professional staff, and about 160 graduate and teaching assistants. programs housed in three academic departments: Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Education and Teacher Education and Learning Sciences. The college has over 1,900 students across five graduate certificates, seven undergraduate majors, two undergraduate minors, 13 master's degrees, three Ph.D. The college's faculty and researchers are widely-recognized thought-leaders who use their research to transform the practice of teaching, learning and leading, with particular strengths in improving technology-enhanced learning and teaching in STEM education and literacy increasing diversity, equity, and access in education and innovating leadership development, educational policy and evaluation. Research expenditures exceeded $16 million in 2022-23. With 70% of its faculty grant active and over 120 funded research projects totaling over $84-plus million, the college is the most productive in terms of research activity in North Carolina and among the Top 5% of colleges of education in the nation. The NC State College of Education leads the way in North Carolina in preparing professionals, conducting research, and engaging communities to improve educational outcomes for all learners across the state and beyond. ĭepartment: 130101 - College Of Education NC State is one of the largest employers in North Carolina, offering a large range of career opportunities. In this sketch random percentages are generated and the user has to slide a pointer to where that percent would be on a given bar showing 100%.Join the Pack! In the mean time drag the points and create your own designs and figure out which portion represents what fraction of the whole. I don't think it's as good as it could be so I am looking for suggestions. I wasn't originally thinking of that but then made this version that fits those types of images but it's dynamic. So I made a dynamic version where you can change the dimensions of the trapezoid.Īfter I posted the Dynamic Mandala (below) suggested it reminded him of (really go to that site first). In the last couple of months I have seen a couple of videos of this transformation from trapezoid to triangle to prove the formula for the area of a trapezoid ( here and here). They can then generate an infinite number of new angles to measure. When they check their answer they will be marked correct if they are within one degree. They can measure angles less than 90 o, 180 o or 360 o. In this sketch students can practice measuring angles with a protractor. In this sketch they can move the ladder manually or automatically. This sketch dynamically models a classic calculus problem: a ladder where the bottom slides away from the wall.
